What To Do
Working in small “research teams,” students follow step-by-step instructions in a fun hands-on activity that demonstrates the key concept.

What Happened
Using an inquiry approach, this section expands the key concept, helping students apply it to the world they live in.

What We Learned
Follow-up questions in each Student Worktext require critical thinking skills and encourage the student to apply the scientific method. They also provide a solid foundation for later testing and assessment.
