About Homeschool Companion
HISTORY
My Homeschool Companion started with the first talk show (Homeschool Companion) dedicated to home-based edu
cation and was launched January 8, 2008, through the generosity of Life Talk radio. This became Life Talk’s first show to air on a digital radio station. Homeschool Companion broadcasts on 76 stations, across five time zones and in 50 states and audio streams live throughout the world, with a 300% increase in the listening audience since the beginning of 2009. Syndication with the Salem Radio Network has recently made available an additional 1,100 stations.
ABOUT THE HOST
Rose Gamblin, PhD, is an education specialist, having taught for 30 years in public and private schools from early childhood through grade 14, and was homeschooled herself through the tenth grade. She is the President of MRG Media Ministries – a ministry designed to help spread the gospel through media. She also teaches algebra at Pennsylvania State University. She believes it is important to always be “practicing what you preach.”WEB SUPPORT FOR HOME-BASED EDUCATORS
In addition to the half-hour each week that callers can call in with questions to the Homeschool Companion radio talk show. My Homeschool Companion website features a chat room where you can get answers to your educational questions and a skype button if you’re the kind of person that needs to hear a voice. Dr. Rose Gamblin monitors these from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm Monday through Friday except for the broadcasts of her two shows–Homeschool Companion (Wednesdays from 11:00 to 12:00 noon EDT) and Education Currents (Mondays from 5:00 to 6:00 pm EDT). If you are reading this page then you will notice the Life Talk Network connection to your right.
